Christina Aguilera erred when she sang the National Anthem prior to Super Bowl XLV. She was supposed to sing the line "O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming." Instead she sang "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last reaming." In a statement issued later, Aguilera apologized for her error: "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through." The sentiment is appreciated but one can't help to feel that she didn't properly prepare for her performance.

Scotland is vying to host the opening stage of the 2017 Tour de France. Organizers told the BBC that it "would be a huge coup" for Scotland to host a stage of the Tour. They also said hosting the time-trial stage would cost $7.8 million, but generate around $155 million for the local economy. The stage would probably take place between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
