Pirates Knows How To Get Their Kicks With Amazing Catch (Video)

By Ryan Hogan

San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum captured the headlines Monday Night with a 15-strikeout performance against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Lincecum threw just 115 pitchers and it took the Giants just 2 hours and 6 minutes to defeat the hapless Pirates, 4-2.

However, in the bottom of the second inning an amazing catch involving two Pirates tried to steal show.

Two Pirates players combine for an extraordinary catch.

The Giants Randy Winn hit a fly ball that avoided Pirates centerfielder Andrew McCutchen’s glove and instead ricocheted off his foot. Second baseman Delwyn Young dived and snatched the errant ball out of the air with his bare hand before it could hit the turf.

The umpires didn’t see that way and ruled the ball hit the ground. Young was able to get the ball into the infield where a confused Winn was tagged out trying to advance. The Pirates still got the out but a run did score on the play.
