HEADLINES

What Will Happen To Pitino?
Rick Pitino involved in soap opera like scandal.

Mike: This use to mean automatic firing. Now they don’t mean as much. This a state institution involved in this.
Tony: We are acting like Pitino is on trail but someone else is on trail for extortion. Almost everyone falls and if he can win games I’m not sure he’s damaged.

  • “Tony mentioned Roethlisberger’s rape allegations. Everyone falls but that’s irrelevant and it doesn’t excuse behavior like this.”
  • Was Youk’s Charge Justified?
Kevin Youkilis charges Tiger Pitcher Rick Pocello.

Mike: Youkilis has been hit 10 times. He’s crowding the plate.
Tony: There’s no way Youkilis should get as many games as Porcello. Youkilis was justified. I don’t believe Porcello.

  • “Tony is slurping for Red Sox. If you watch the video, it certainly appears that Porcello didn’t intend to plunk Youkilis.”
  • Will Tiger Win PGA?

Mike: Yes he’s going to make it three in a row. PGA has winners that come from nowhere. I think Nick Watkins can play.
Tony: I’m taking the field. I’m going against Tiger. Look at all the winners of majors this year not exactly murder’s row.

  • “Mike slurps Tiger… again and name drops Nick Watkins. Tony insults the winners of this year’s majors.”
  • Moyer Mad At Phillies?
Jamie Moyer upset after Pedro Martinez joins club.

Mike: This isn’t the end of season, the Phillies have slipped back. Why would you risk the chemistry?
Tony: I understand Moyer’s feelings. He’s won 10 games, more than any other Phillies but he has the worst ERA. I can’t blame the Phillies for taking a shot with Pedro.

  • “The treatment of Moyer is appalling. Regardless of how well Pedro performs, the Phillies have erred.”

    FIVE GOOD MINUTES

Kenny Williams, White Sox’s General Manager

    1. When I went jogging today I stopped at every light.
    2. These moves are for the long term. I think we’re going to return to the type of game we saw in the 1980′s.
    3. When we make decision here we do it with an analytical mind.
    4. One of the first things I did when I started was hire a sabermetics guy.
    5. Ozzie and I fight like brothers sometimes but we have a passion for the game and the love and respect like brothers.
    6. There are some things Ozzie says that makes me cringe, but what’s wrong with a little character in sports.
  • “Seattle follows its traffic laws. Get used to it. “

    Oddsmakers

    Chances Nats Sign Strasburg?

Mike: 1%. There’s nothing to suggest that franchise will get it done. They shouldn’t have taken this kid.
Tony: 30%. They are going to offer him the most money ever offered but I don’t know if that will be enough.

  • “Nobody outside of D.C. cares about this story. “
  • Chances Michael Crabtree Sits Out The Entire Season?

Mike: 0% What else is he going to do? He’s a wide receiver diva.
Tony: 0%. He got drafted 10th and will have to settle for number 10 money.

  • “Bombastic Sports has a feeling he’ll sit out.”
  • Chances state of New Jersey gets their name back on the jersey of the Nets?

Mike: 0%. Another goose egg. Nets used to do this.
Tony: 9%. None of the New Jersey teams have never done this.

  • “Who cares.”
  • Chances Birdman Anderson Keeps His Promise Not To Shave His Beard Until He Gets Married?

Mike: 10% Birdman is creative. He can perm the beard.
Tony: 100%. This guy is a lunatic. I have no doubt he’ll kept it unless his betrothed says differently.

  • “Wouldn’t he keep it just BEFORE he gets married, i.e. shaves the night before the wedding?”
  • Reali: Wilbon wins!

Happy 42nd birthday to Mike Gundy.
Happy anniversary to Major League Baseball. On this day 12 years ago baseball went on strike.
Happy trails to a bunch of Brewers, they released several players.

    ERRORS

Reali: Did you drop some Patrick Chewing in that last segment? Youkilis has dropped his appeal.

    WHAT TO WATCH

    Mike: Phillis versus Cubs.
