Roy Meritorious In Blazers’ 80-74 Victory Over Bobcats (VIDEO)

Brandon Roy was meritorious in the Portland Trail Blazers’ 80-74 victory over Charlotte Bobcats Saturday night.

The former Washington Husky scored 25 points for the Blazers who have won six straight overall and are 5-1 on the road.

“We made plays,” said Blazers coach Nate McMillan. “We got stops when we needed to. We’re scoring when we need to. We’re finding ways to win.”

Portland’s point guard Andre Miller added 15.

Greg Oden played just 18 minutes before collecting his sixth foul. He was four for four from the field, scored eight points, grabbed four rebounds and swatted four shots.

Charlotte’s Boris Diaw, had a team-high 21 points.

For Portland the win was marred by injuries to a key reserves.

In the first quarter, Trail Blazers forward Travis Outlaw suffered a stress fracture in the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.

He is out for six to eight weeks.

The injury occurred just 20 seconds after he entered in the game.

Before the game even started, Blazers guard Jerryd Bayless sprained his left ankle while returning to the locker room. Bayless was fooled by a disguised step hidden by carpet.

The freak mishap occurred about an hour before game time. He’s expected to return for the Blazers game against the Atlanta Hawks Monday night.

The game featured a minor fracas after Bobcat Raja Bell elbowed Blazer LaMarcus Aldridge in the ear.

The result was some pushing, some shouting and five technicals. The Blazers shout one technical free threw and then the ball was jumped at mid-court.
