Kurt Warner Endures Savage Collision In Cardinals’ Playoff Vanquishment

In the second quarter of Saturday’s divisional round playoff game between New Orleans and Arizona, Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner was violently blocked by Saints defensive end Bobby McCray.

Warner had thrown an interception on the play and as he was pursuing the ball carrier McCray knocked him down with a rancorous buffet.

The collision knocked Warner out of the contest. He was replaced by backup Matt Leinart.

Warner returned to start the second half but was replaced for good in the fourth quarter when the outcome of the game was no longer in doubt.

Saints pulverized the Cardinals, 45-14.

Bombastic Sports was on Twitter when Warner was struck and forced to vacate the game. Many commented that Warner’s career was finished. The hit was that vicious.

Despite returning to the contest, Warner’s future with the Cardinals is indeterminate. The future hall of fame quarterback will consider whether or not to retire after contemplation in the off season.

The Saints move on to host the Minnesota Vikings Sunday in the NFC Championship game.
