Yankees’ Nick Swisher Appears On CBS Sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’ (VIDEO)
New York Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher appeared on the February 1st, 2010 episode of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Swisher played himself, delivered multiple lines of dialogue, and was featured prominently in the show’s second act.
For a professional athlete Swisher’s performance was commendable. He had a terrific presence and uttered his lines with aplomb. Fisher also looked quite ripped. Perhaps the switch-hitter has increase his commitment to physical fitness?
The 14th episode of the fifth season, called “Perfect Week,” featured character Barney Stinson vying for a perfect week–sleeping with one women a day for seven days with nary a rejection.
As a member of the Yankees, Fisher was the only entity that could ruin Stinson’s perfect week. The show was playing on the immense popularity the Yankees have with New York’s female citizenry. The show insinuated that any single woman in the Big Apple would immediately forsake the man currently in their company to flock to the side of a Yankee.
One How I Met Your Mother, character, named Ted Mosby, remarked that your paramour can be stolen by any Yankee, even if they are no longer on the team.
“I was once rack stacked by Phil Rizzuto,” Ted told his friends.
Swisher’s contribution ended when another character, named Robin Scherbatsky, informed the slugger that her apartment is just upstairs.

Doesn’t Nicky look like a character from Jersey Shores?
